Pineview Plants is run by Colin & Cindy Moat and is approaching its twenty fifth year. Colin, on his retirement as an IFA in 2012, reinvigorated their hobby nursery. This started in the nineties, driven mainly by the love of plants and their propagation.

We offer a wide range of herbaceous perennial plants ranging from rare, new or unusual, to easy, interesting and reliable. Many have been selected over the years, however, we are always on the lookout for better or more attractive forms with our selection changing from year to year. Our criteria is always good garden plants selected from new named varieties, to plants of species raised from seed. The wide range primarily reflects plants that are of interest to us and that we believe to be of outstanding merit, with leanings towards shade loving plants. These include many ferns, and a huge range of Epimediums. We also have collections of Sanguisorba, Thalictrum, Persicaria, Anemone nemerosa, Eranthis... and far too many others!
We attend a large number of Plant Fairs around the South East of England, and we are more than happy to bring orders to these events should you wish. See our Plant Fairs page for dates. We are open to the public by appointment only as we are a ‘working’ nursery. If you are looking to source or view a selection of plants, then please contact us and we will be pleased to see you. Over recent years we have also offered the facility of mail order. However, as we propagate a huge range of plants at our small nursery, quantity is often limited. If the plant you want is ‘out of stock’ please let us know so we can prioritise propagation.
We were pleased to have been awarded a Silver medal at both the 2015 and 2017 RHS London Spring Show, and Colin was the Coordinator for the Silver-Gilt medal awarded to the Hardy Plant Society-Kent Group display at RHS Chelsea. In 2018 Colin chaired the RHS Roundtable on Epimedium, for Awards of Garden Merit (AGM) and is delighted to be an assessor for the three year long RHS Sanguisorba Trial (2018), and the RHS Persicaria Trial (2019). Colin has also contributed articles and blogs to a number of publications and sites (see our Articles page for a read). He is also available for talks to societies and has been doing these for a number of years.
Colin is currently chair and event coordinator of the Plant Fairs Roadshow, an association of specialist nurseries, who hold plant fairs in South-East England.
